This dataset presents key Physical Energy Flow Accounts (PEFA) indicators. They are derived from the supply and use tables which record physical flows through the compilation of supply and use tables. They describe how an economy supplies and uses energy products and can be used to assess changes in production and consumption activities over time. The flows of energy are grouped into natural energy inputs (flows from environment to economy), energy products (flows within economy), and energy residuals (flows from economy to environment mainly). The data are compiled in line with the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) Central Framework. Data reported by the relevant national statistical authorities are available on an annual basis. Data for European countries are collected by Eurostat.
