The data source for this indicator is the ACS 5-year estimate. When comparing the 50% and 200% poverty indicators, it is advised to use this indicator rather than the 1-year estimate.

In 2026, the U.S. Census Bureau defined the poverty level as a combined annual income roughly $33,000 for a family of four.
