Dataset Description

Definition

In 2025, the U.S. Census Bureau defined the poverty level as a combined annual income of roughly $32,700 for a family of four (two adults and two children). 50% of the Federal Poverty Level for a family of four is half the amount of the poverty level (roughly $16,350 for a family of four in 2025).

This indicator represents children ages 0-17 below 50% FPL.

The percent reflects the total number of children below 50% FPL of the total number of children 0-17 in that locality.

*for the most recent year, counts under 20 within a county were censored, but the percentage was reported
