KIDS COUNT Data Center - Annie E. Casey Foundation

Definition

The percentage of school age children within a school district who live in families below the U.S. poverty threshold. Calculations take the estimated number of children (ages 5 to 17) in families in poverty divided by the total number of children (ages 5 to 17). Please note that this measure is not the same as free and reduced lunch, which corresponds to a different poverty threshold.
