Premature Babies (1980–2023)

Definition

Babies born to women who delivered before the 37th week of pregnancy are recorded based on the mother's place of residence, not the place of birth.

Notes

It is possible that the total number of births may not match the overall frequency. This discrepancy can occur for births where no municipality was specified or for those births that took place outside of Puerto Rico, even if the mother was a resident of a municipality in Puerto Rico.
