Teen Births (1990–2023)

Definition

This data shows the number of births to females aged 15 to 19 years old, expressed per 1,000 individuals in that age group. The data is based on the mother's place of residence rather than her place of birth.

Data petition to the Puerto Rico Department of Health, Auxiliary Secretariat for Planning and Development, Division of Statistical Analysis.

Notes

It is possible that the total number of births may not match the overall frequency. This discrepancy can occur for births where no municipality was specified or for those births that took place outside of Puerto Rico, even if the mother was a resident of a municipality in Puerto Rico.
