Definition

The income at which one half of all households have higher incomes and one half of all households have lower incomes.

Data Source

This indicator has two sources: incomes are from actual population counts from the U.S. Census Bureau (1989 & 1999), and U.S. Census Bureau, Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates Program (SAIPE) for all other years.
