Median Household Income (1999–2024)

Definition

Median household income is the estimated point at which one half of all households have higher incomes and one half of all households have lower incomes.

Please use caution in interpreting income trends from year to year, as the methodology and data sources used to produce income estimates changed significantly, beginning with the release of the 2005 estimates.
