Data Source

Special data tabulation provided by North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, NC Medicaid, Division of Health Services,  NC Analytics Data Warehouse in January 2023. The numbers include the total number of children under age 19 enrolled in Health Choice (Children's Health Insurance Program).

Notes

On April 1, 2023, North Carolina transitioned to a combined Medicaid structure and eliminated its standalone Children’s Health Insurance Program (Health Choice). Children previously enrolled in Health Choice were automatically transitioned to NC Medicaid. As a result, data for this indicator are no longer collected but remain available for historical comparison.
