Established skills: percenatge of students at this level demonstrated the early math skills that support learning
based on Maryland’s kindergarten learning standards. They are ready to build on these skills
and take on new challenges throughout the year.
In Math, students at this level can count and compare quantities up to 10 and identify various
number combinations up to 5 or beyond. These students may represent and solve addition
and subtraction situations within 5 using multiple representations. Additionally, they may
name and sort shapes or objects based on observable attributes, such as the number of sides,
corners, or size.
