The OaSIS, OaSIS 2025 Version 1.0, included several updates while maintaining continuity with previous versions. The primary basis for this version of the OaSIS is the NOC 2021 Version 1.0 and the SCT 2025 Version 1.0. However, several important additions and reviews were conducted, which are outlined below.

What’s new:

  • A new feature, Core competencies, has been added to highlight key skills, abilities, personal attributes, and knowledge, using a narrative form
  • Three new Abilities descriptors have been rated for all occupations: General Learning Ability, Hand-Eye Coordination, and Form Perception
  • Ratings for some occupations in the Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge categories were updated
  • The Skills Match tool was updated using the revised ratings and the Knowledge category was added
  • The Skills for Success section includes data for each profile

This update ensures the database remains accurate and relevant while introducing new features and enhancements.

The OaSIS was published in December 2022 and is based on the NOC 2021 Version 1.0 and SCT 2022 Version 1.0. It includes 900 occupations and information on 200 competency descriptors across the Skills, Abilities, Personal Attributes, Interests, Work Activities and Work Context categories. The profiles also include information from the respective NOC unit groups, including lead statement, example titles, main duties, employment requirements, similar occupations classified elsewhere, workplaces/employers, and additional information.
