Dataset Description
This metadata layer shows the footprint of vegetation mapping projects completed in California that have used the Manual California of Vegetation (MCV 1st edition) or the National Vegatation Classification Standards (MCV 2nd edition/online) as a basis for vegetation classification. It provides basic information about each project. It is current as of December 2025. A second dataset, Vegetation (MCV / NVCS) Sampling Projects - California [ds3103], shows information about sampling-only project areas that currently have no mapping projects associated with them.
