Vegetation (MCV / NVCS) Sampling Areas - California - [ds3103]

This metadata layer shows the footprint of areas included in vegetation sampling projects without associated mapping projects. These projects are collecting surveys that can be used to create regional classifications consistent with the Manual California of Vegetation (online) and are consistent with National Vegetation Classification Standards. It provides basic information about each project. It is current as of July 2023. A second dataset, Vegetation (MCV / NVCS) Mapping Projects - California [ds515] (https://apps.wildlife.ca.gov/bios6/?al=515), shows information about fine-scaled mapping projects that use the MCV / NVCS as the basis of classification.
