FMPA Fire Management Units. A FMU is a land management area definable by objectives, management constraints, topographic features, access, values to be protected, political boundaries, fuel types, major fire regime groups, etc. that sets it apart from the characteristics of an adjacent FMU. This data layer defines a sub unit within the planning area that spells out specific strategies for fire operations within that fire management unit.
