Definition

Infants weighing less than 2,500 grams (5 lbs. 8 oz.) at birth born to mothers age 20 and over. The percentage calculation is the number of live births weighing less than 2,500 grams born to mothers age 20 and over divided by the total number of live births to mothers age 20 and over.
