Definition

The rate of child hospitalizations with a primary asthma diagnosis per 1,000 children under age 18. Data are reported by place of child's residence at the time of hospitalization.

Notes

Starting with data for 2011, rates are based on the Census 2010
population. Previous years are based on the Census 2000 population. This
change should be noted when looking at trends over time.

The year indicated is the mid-year of a five-year period of data.
