(Number) of infant deaths (less than one year old).

(Rate-D.C.) Number of infant deaths (less than one year old) per every 1,000 live births in D.C.

(Rate-Ward) Number of infant deaths (less than one year old) in ward per every 1,000 live births in the ward.

Due to the small number of infant deaths, infant mortality rates are highly variable and should be interpreted cautiously.
