Definition

The percentage of all live births is defined as babies who weigh under 2,500 grams (5. pounds) at birth.

Note: Percentages calculated excluding unknown. Counts between 1 and 4 as well as rates/percentages based on fewer than 11 persons are suppressed.

the numerator for this variable is the number of low birth-weight babies; the denominator is total births.
