About this Dataset

Gold Reserves By Country Since 2002 (Tonnes)

This dataset consists of gold reserves by country from 2002 to the end of 2022. This gold reserve data comes from gold.org, which is compiled using IMF IFS statistics, and it tracks central banks’ reported purchases and sales.

The original data provides official gold reserves as well as changes in gold reserves, but not the numbers in metric tonnes for the previous years. I used R to get all the hard numbers for the previous years (from 2022 up to 2021). For your information, several cell values are inconsistent with their previous reports, I only use the latest report (Q4 2022).
