About this Dataset

Monetary And Financial Statistics (MFS), Other Financial Corporations

The Monetary and Financial Statistics (MFS), Other Financial Corporations (OFCs) dataset offers presents an analytical perspective on the OFC's relationships with other economic sectors and nonresidents. This dataset is compiled using OFCs sectoral balance sheet submitted by countries to the IMF using standardized report forms (SRFs), specifically the 4SR. OFCs consist of financial institutions that are not issuing liabilities included in broad money. These institutions include the non-money market funds, insurance corporations, pension funds, amongst others. The SRF compilation follows the methodological framework of the 2016 Monetary and Financial Statistics Manual and Compilation Guide (MFSMCG). While the OFCs survey is available for all reporting countries, detailed 4SR data is only accessible for a subset of economies.
