This Eurostat dataset contains data on surgical operations and procedures performed in hospitals by icd-9-cm - historical data (1990-2016), as collected and published by the Statistical Office of the European Union.

Tables included:

• raw: Original table as downloaded from Eurostat.
• tidy: A cleaned and transformed version of the raw table, where time period values appear as rows instead of columns (unpivoted format).
