The WWI is a screening tool that uses nationally available datasets to summarize baseline characteristics about weather-related hazards and vulnerability at the census tract level for communities reliant on private wells. This dataset contains continental US census tracts for which there are state-normed WWI assigned. To visualize these data, please visit the Tracking Network at https://ephtracking.cdc.gov/DataExplorer/. For a lay description of these data, please visit https://ephtracking.cdc.gov/indicatorPages and for the scientific publication detailing these data please visit https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39510280/

The data for the nationally-normed WWI can be accessed here https://data.cdc.gov/dataset/Nationally-normed-WWI/fxwg-3udm/about_data.

The data for census tracts with no Well Water Index (WWI) assigned can be accessed here https://data.cdc.gov/dataset/No-WWI/agqb-jgkw/about_data
