CDC - Flu Vaccinations

• Influenza vaccination coverage among Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries 65 years and older is assessed using data files from the Medicare Fee-For-Service (FFS) administrative claims data managed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

• Weekly influenza vaccination coverage estimates were calculated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, based on beneficiaries enrolled as of August 1 at the start of each flu season (example: Aug 1, 2021) until the end of the current season reporting time period or the end of May the following year for prior seasons (example: May 28, 2022). Influenza vaccines received since August 1 of each season, among adults who were 65 years or older as of the end of the first year of the season (e.g., December 31, 2025 for the 2025–26 season), were included.
