Dataset On The Institutional Design Of Deliberative Mini-Publics In Europe

This dataset underpins the empirical analysis presented in the article ‘Varieties of citizen engagement? The institutional design of deliberative innovations in Europe in comparative perspective’. It brings together 649 cases of deliberative mini-publics implemented at national and subnational levels across European democracies, spanning from the late 1970s to the present day. The aim is to provide a structured, comparative dataset capable of capturing both the institutional design of democratic innovations and their connection to the broader political context in which they are embedded.
