Urban Light Pollution In Local Climate Zones: A Comparative Study For Global Cities

Introduction This archive contains all the data used in the submitted manuscript titled "Urban light pollution in local climate zones: a comparative study for global cities". There are several (sub)folders with various data. 1) 01_Abs-values: Absolute values of the nighttime radiance (NTR) outputs proceeded by R script in PNG and SVG format. 2) 02_Differences: Absolute and relative differences of the nighttime radiance (NTR) between the analyzed years and the reference year 2012. Outputs proceeded by R script in PNG and SVG format. Note that some relative differences should be misleading (e.g., in the case of very small values should be increased to enormous). 3) 03_Cities: Individual results for all the cities including all boxplots, GIS layers, maps, and tables. Some cities have a different name as was used in the manuscript (e.g., Duisburg-Dortmund vs. Ruhr Region). The rest of the results resulting from the R script are available in the root folder (overview statistics, boxplots, and summary table - sumtable_LP_all_2012-2023.csv). All the VIIRS data for the whole world will be provided upon request.
