Payment files reflect a change in the conversion factor as a result of the Preservation of Access to Care for Medicare Beneficiaries and Pension Relief Act of 2010, which President Obama signed into law on June 25, 2010. This legislation provides for a 2.2 percent update to the 2010 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS), effective for dates of service June 1, 2010, through November 30, 2010. For 2010A: Payment files reflect changes as a result of practice expense (PE) and malpractice (MP) relative value unit (RVU) corrections and provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (the Affordable Care Act), as modified by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, which President Obama signed into law on March 23, 2010, and March 30, 2010, respectively.
