What’s in this dataset?

This dataset includes identifying information for entities currently registered with the New York State Tax Department as a Deposit Initiator.
A Deposit Initiator is the first bottler, distributor, dealer, or agent required to collect the deposit on a beverage container sold in New York State. A deposit initiator:
• Bottles beverages in containers with an established deposit.
• Distributes beverages in containers with an established deposit that were not purchased from a registered Deposit Initiator.
• Sells beverages in containers that were not purchased from a registered Deposit Initiator.
• Acts as an agent on behalf of a registered Deposit Initiator.

What can this data tell me?

Use this data to determine whether an entity is registered with New York State Tax Department as a Deposit Initiator.
