Dataset Description
Overview
This Feature Service provides detailed geographic information on steep slope areas within the state of Connecticut. This layer was derived from the 2023 Digital Elevation Model from the 2023 Spring imagery and lidar capture. It is developed to support planning, environmental management, and risk assessment related to slope stability.

Feature Layers
- Steep Slope 10 ft : This layer maps areas with steep slopes derived from a 10-feet per pixel DEM, providing details such as slope percentage, municipality, and council of governments (COG) region. It offers data for assessing terrain steepness over larger vertical intervals.
- Steep Slope 2 ft : This layer captures steep slopes derived from a 2-foot per pixel DEM, allowing for more detailed slope analysis at a smaller vertical resolution. Similar attribute details like slope percent, municipality, and COG are included, supporting higher-resolution terrain studies.
Geographic Coverage
The data covers the landscape of Connecticut, focusing on areas with significant slope gradients that may impact land use and development.
