Broadband Availability Data — Block-Level Summary

What the dataset includes

For each Census block, the dataset provides:

Location counts

• Total broadband serviceable locations
• Number of providers serving the block
• Counts of unserved, underserved, and served locations
• Locations capable of gigabit, near-gigabit, or meeting the state’s 1000/100 Mbps goal

Technology availability

• Presence of major technologies:
  copper/DSL (10), cable (40), fiber (50), and Fixed Wireless Access (71)
• Percent of locations served by each technology type
• Lists of providers offering each technology

Speed statistics

• Maximum, minimum, median, and 75th percentile advertised download and upload speeds
• Average and standard deviation of advertised speeds

Provider information

• All providers present in the block
• Providers offering gigabit, ≥100/20 Mbps, or ≥1Gbps/100 Mbps service
• Lists of fiber, cable, copper, and fixed-wireless providers

Business vs. residential

• Counts and percentages of business, residential, and mixed-use (BRX) locations
