They were officially designated by the DC Board of Elections (DCBOE) and developed within the framework of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and other relevant DC governmental bodies.
As per D.C. Law 24-342, known as the Elections Modernization Amendment Act of 2022, the District has implemented centralized polling locations known as Vote Centers. Eligible voters can now cast their ballots at these centers regardless of their address within the District, eliminating the previous tie to precincts.
