Dataset Description
A line feature layer derived from the Metro Transportation Network (TNET) King County. Each line segment represents a unique link in the King County transportation network. More information about TNET, including field metadata can be found in the King County GIS Catalogue.
This layer is a simplified version of the TNET that is filtered for segments in Seattle where public bus transit service operates. Five fields are joined to the TNET layer representing the number of daily in-service buses that are scheduled to travel on the segment each weekday.
Joined fields:
- CHANGE_NUM - Unique integer that identifies service change period. 157 = Fall 2024
- TRIP_KIND_CD - S = service trip
- SCHED_DAY_TYPE_CODED_NUM - 0 = weekday
- DAILY_TRIP_CNT - The number of times per day the given t-link is traversed by buses meeting all criteria in the given row.
- ROUTES – Bus routes included in the DAILY_TRIP_CNT
This data can be used to view scheduled in-service weekday bus volumes in Seattle by street segment and is reported in SDOT’s Annual Traffic Report. The current published layer represents bus volume data from the Fall 2024 service change (September 2024 – March 2025) and may be out of date with current service levels. Data will be refreshed annually with the update of the Annual Traffic Report. If you need more recent data, please contact King County.
