The public sector apprenticeship target was introduced by government in April 2017 in accordance with The Public Sector Apprenticeship Targets Regulations 2017. Public sector bodies, including local authorities in England, with 250 or more staff, publish data each year showing the number of new apprentices and existing employees starting an apprenticeship. This data shows Leicester City Council's figures including central and school employees.
