Countries (December 1961) Boundaries EW BFC

This file contains the digital vector boundaries for the Countries in the England and Wales, as at Census 1961. The boundaries available are:

(BFC) Full resolution - clipped to the coastline (Mean High Water mark).

Contains both Ordnance Survey and ONS Intellectual Property Rights.

These were created by Justin Hayes' team at Salford university

The boundary data have been released alongside our 1961 Census Small Area Statistics which are being treated as a beta product in order that we can obtain feedback from users on all aspects of the data, including the boundary work, as this is the first historic Census digitisation product that Census Historical Research has released.
