This dataset contains data on statutory salaries of teachers at different points of their careers (starting salary, salaries after 10 and 15 years of experience, and salary at the top of the salary scale). It covers full-time teachers in public institutions in pre-primary, primary and (lower and upper) secondary general education.
The default table displays data in equivalent USD for teachers with the most prevalent qualification at each stage of career (in the reference year). The selection can be changed to display data by qualification level of teachers (minimum, most prevalent or maximum) and by currency unit (equivalent USD or national currency).
For more information, please consult Education at a Glance 2025. Additional details regarding the methodology used, references to the sources and specific notes for each country can be found in Education at a Glance 2025 Sources, Methodologies and Technical Notes.
For historical data, see Trends in teachers’ statutory salaries since 2000.
