Grandparents Living With And Taking Care Of Their Grandchildren (2008–2023)

Definition

This data shows the number and percentage of grandparents who live with their grandchildren under 18 years old and are responsible for meeting their basic needs. These basic needs include, but are no limited to, financial responsibility for food, shelter, clothing and child care, regardless of whether the children’s parents are present in the household.
