Definition

Number of live births to mothers age 20 and over who recorded on the birth certificate that they were unwed by racial or ethnic category.

White non-Hispanic - live births recorded as white alone and non-Hispanic

Black non-Hispanic - live births recorded as black alone and non-Hispanic

Other non-Hispanic - live births recorded as any other race alone or two or more races and non-Hispanic

• live births recorded as being of any race and Hispanic
