Definition

Number of children enrolled in preschool (PK3) and pre-kindergarten (PK4) by school type.

Data Source

Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) Annual Pre-Kindergarten Reports (except for 2020-21, when the annual report did not have charter school data so we used Oversight responses instead). In some years some children were enrolled in pre-K, but with an unknown ward, leading to a discrepancy between the District-wide total and the number of children enrolled across ward (1823 in 2020-21 and 1604 in 2021-22).
