Massachusetts public high school graduates attending institutions of higher education data refer to students attending college or university within 16 months of graduating high school.
The percentages showing the distribution of graduates by type of institution (public or private, type of public institution) all refer to the percent of graduates who have enrolled in college or university.

The Mass. Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education collects information on enrollment in institutions of higher education from the National Student Clearinghouse, which receives data from more than 3,600 colleges, enrolling 98 percent of U.S. college students. Other student data are from the Student Information Management System (SIMS) database.
Updated January 2023 with data from school year 2020-2021 graduates.
