Definition

The youth unemployment rate measures the percent of individuals, ages 16-19, of the youth labor force who do not currently have a job but are actively looking for work across the state. Those not in the labor force because they are in school (or for other reasons) are not included.

Data Source

for this report is from the Current Population Survey. Users are reminded that these data are based on a household sample and therefore subject to sampling error. Caution should be used in drawing inferences from these data.
