Numerator: Unduplicated count of children with a substantiated incident of abuse and/or neglect. Denominator: Number of children less than age 18. Rate calculation: 1,000 times the numerator divided by the denominator.

Notes

If there is substantial credible evidence that abuse or neglect has occurred, a report is determined to be substantiated. N.A.: Data Not Available, S: Data Suppressed indicates that there were 4 or fewer events on which rates would be based.
