Dataset Description

Definition

Kinship homes are those headed by a child’s aunt or uncle, cousin, grandparent, godparent, or adult

sibling, in which a child is placed for fostering care. Like foster homes, kinship homes must meet

licensing requirements ensuring health and safety.

Notes

Percents provided are out of all children placed into out-of-home care.

Data for St. Thomas also include St. John.
