KIDS COUNT Data Center - Annie E. Casey Foundation

Definition

Smoking
during pregnancy (total births to mothers who smoked during pregnancy) is the
number of women who smoked during pregnancy. Birth certificates on which
information on smoking during pregnancy was not reported were not included in
this calculation.

Data Source

Percents are based on records with stated cigarette smoking data. Percents are based on small data bases; caution must be exercised when attempting to draw conclusions. Percents based on small numbers, less than 20 births, are unreliable.

Special Records Request, Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics; Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
