Definition
The number of individuals of all ages who live below the U.S. poverty threshold, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. The percent in poverty is all individuals living in poverty divided by all individuals for whom poverty status is determined. The poverty threshold was $25,926 for a family of two adults and two related children under age 18 in 2019.
