Infant Mortality (1990–2023)

Definition

Infant mortality rates for children under one year old are reported based on the mother's place of residence. Rates are expressed per 1,000 births.

Data petition to the Puerto Rico Department of Health, Auxiliary Secretariat for Planning and Development, Division of Statistical Analysis.

Notes

It is possible that the total number deaths may not match the overall frequency. This discrepancy can occur for births where no municipality was specified or for those births that took place outside of Puerto Rico, even if the mother was a resident of a municipality in Puerto Rico.
