Definition

Children under age 19 not covered by any health insurance.

The data are based on health insurance coverage at the time of the survey; interviews are conducted throughout the calendar year. Children receiving health insurance through a variety of State Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP) are counted as having health insurance.

Data Source

PRB analysis of data from the U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey table C27001.

S - Estimates suppressed when the confidence interval around the percentage is greater than or equal to 10 percentage points.

Data are provided for the 50 most populous cities according to the most recent Census counts. Cities for which data are collected may change over time.
