Definition

This indicator provides estimates on fair market rent for a three-bedroom housing in a given fiscal year. Fair market rents represent the 40th percentile gross rent and determine the eligibility of rental housing units for the Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments program. State data is an average of county data.
