Definition

The child death rate is the number of deaths (from all causes) of children between the ages of 1 and 14, per 100,000 children. The data are reported by the child’s county of residence, rather than by where the death occurred.

Data Source

CBER calculations from Nevada Department of Health and Human Service, Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Office of Public Health Informatics and Epidemiology.

Notes

LNE = Low Number Event. Calculated rates based on very small numbers are not statistically reliable.  Average three-year rates were not calculated for an age-specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 5 deaths, prior to 2011-2013. For 2011-2013, rates were not calculated for an age specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 10 deaths. Starting with 2012-2014 data, rates are not calculated for an age-specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 12 deaths.

2013-2015 rates were calculated by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
