Definition

The rate of deaths of infants under 1 year of age in comparison to live births occurring during the same time period. The rate is per 1,000 live births. The data are reported by place of residence, not the place of death. Data is reported as five-year rates, where the year shown refers to the last year, i.e. 2024 refers to 2020-2024.

Notes

Data represent five-year averages, with the last year of the five-year spread indicated here: 2024 represents the annual average of the data from 2020-2024. "s" represents Suppressed and shows when the number of infant deaths over the 5 year period is fewer than 6. Zero will show if the number is zero.
