Definition

Number - the average annual number of deaths among children under one year of age during the reporting period.

Rate - number of deaths among children under one year of age per 1,000 live births during the reporting period.

Live births and deaths 2001-2023: Louisiana State Center for Health Statistics, Louisiana Department of Health.

Notes

Note that numbers represent an average of data over a five-year period, which allows for data to be reported for more parishes.
