Definition

Estimated percent of high school students who participated in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program by school district in Alaska

A participant at the secondary level is an individual who completes not less than one course in an approved career and technical education Perkins V Alaska. The participant numbers used to calculate percentages in this report represent duplicated numbers.  A student that has taken a course in automotive and culinary is counted twice.

Student data is collected from school districts that participate in the federal Carl D Perkins grant. This grant does not cover all CTE activities in Alaska, however most public high school students are enrolled in schools that participate in the Perkins grant.
